Bianca


Bianca Zaldivar grew up in Sevilla, southern Spain, where she started dancing flamenco at 7 years old in Triana, a Sevillian neighborhood known for its flamenco roots. Here she learned the basics of flamenco dance with Manolo Suegra. Then, In 1984, she entered the Escuela de Danza Hermanas Muñoz. Here, she further developed her flamenco skills, learning about the various palos flamencos, different techniques, choreography, and training with castanets. She also gained experience dancing on stage as they performed at various regional flamenco fairs regularly. In 1995, at the age of 19, Bianca moved to Virginia Beach, which has been her home since. In 2000, she joined the Flamenco Vision Dance Company in order to be part of a Flamenco Show at the MOCA in 2001, alongside Quiana Erb. Since then, she has continued learning flamenco and finding inspiration through her personal experience, online classes, and in-person workshops in Sevilla when she visits every year. In January, 2022, along with Quiana Erb and Daniela Sastriques, she started Las Lolas Flamencas Dance Company, where she continues to shape her dance and share her passion for flamenco.
